School Chef

Grade 6, Level 1-4 (£21,400-£23,793 per annum, reduced pro rata)

Fixed term contract until 31 August 2021, with possibility to extend thereafter

30hrs per week, Term time only + 2 weeks

 

Dringhouses Primary School are seeking to recruit an exceptional School Chef to lead the whole school dining experience. As a valued member of our catering team you will be providing wholesome dishes made from locally sourced fresh produce.

The successful candidate will work with staff, pupils, governors and parents to build a really exciting culture in school where children understand more about the foods they are eating, where it comes from and also how this contributes their well-being. As such our new school chef will need to demonstrate enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to make a difference to the wider school community. Encouraging children to fuel their appetites for learning by making healthy choices and eating well.

As chef you will be leading a small team of kitchen assistants to deliver an effective catering experience service operating to highest standards of food safety. On a daily basis you will be preparing, cooking and serving meals to pupils and staff as well as other kitchen management duties such as stocktaking, administration, menu planning and house keeping.

You will be reliable, dependable and committed to providing tasty nutritious meals, working from 8:00am to 2:30 totalling 30 hours per week over 5 days.

A qualification in basic food hygiene is essential.

No weekend or evening work!

You will work term time only week however you will receive equal monthly payments throughout the year.

This post requires an Enhanced DBS, the cost of which will be met by the employer. This is temporary position for 1 year with a view to becoming permanent there after.

Midday Supervisory Assistant (MSA)

6hrs 40mins per week

Grade 2, (Level 1-4 £16,954-£17,469) reduced pro rata

 

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated person to join our friendly team of MSAs.  You will be working over the lunchtime period, helping children in the dining room and supervising on the school yard.  No experience is necessary as full training will be given.  This is a term time only position.

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

 

Working pattern:

Mon - Fri 11:45-13:05, term time only
