Headteacher's Message 27/09/19

We are well into the autumn term – and it is certainly beginning to feel autumnal with four seasons in one day at the moment! Just a couple of things to share with you at this point. Firstly the school is very proud to have received the Primary Science Quality Mark. It recognises the strength of this subject in the curriculum through the hard work of the subject leaders, Miss Graham and Mrs Skidmore together with the excellent learning that is taking place in class. At Dringhouses science is an engaging subject with children regularly discussing their enjoyment and the knowledge gained. Secondly, you may have noticed the number of sporting activities and achievements being shared on twitter at the moment. Barely a day seems to go by without a team representing Dringhouses – it is great to see the range of sports and ages involved. On another sporting note, a group of older children visited Old Trafford to see the Man Utd v Rochdale game. A fantastic experience for the children and staff (well it is the theatre of dreams..) – many thanks to all involved. A particular thank you to Miss Beverley for the organisation too.

It was lovely to meet some more parents recently at the first FODS meeting of the year. There are many exciting activities planned and, again, many thanks to you all for your commitment to raising money for the school. I look forward to meeting more of you again at the forthcoming October parents’ evenings.
